After Schubert, the arpeggione had not inspired composers until the end of the 20th century. The last generation of composers has however shown a new interest in this bowed guitar, the repertoire available today approaching fifty opuses. This recent development is the topic of the presented paper and is discussed from a performer’s perspective.
